Principal's Message

Dear De Anza Parents,

        My name is Ms. Barrera and I am the new principal at De Anza Elementary.  I come to you from the Placentia-Yorba Linda School District where I served as an Elementary Principal for the last 8 years.  I am very excited to join the De Anza Family.  I had the opportunity to work with your previous principal, Dr. Rios, over the summer to make this transition as smooth as possible and I am honored to be a part of your child’s life.

         At De Anza, we strive to provide a safe, clean environment for the students, parents and staff.  We value parent participation and support, therefore, I highly encourage you to fill-out a parent volunteer application.  Please stop by our school office between the hours of 7:30 am-4:00 pm to pick up your volunteer application.

Our first day of school will be Thursday, August 11, 2016.  The first day will be a minimum day, therefore students will attend from 8:05 am-1:35 pm.  Our regular school hours are 8:05 am-2:20 pm for grades TK-3rd and 8:05 am-2:40 pm for grades   4th– 6th students on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  Every Wednesday, all students will be dismissed at 12:45 pm.

        I will be sending home monthly calendars, lunch menus and Principal newsletters to keep you informed of special events, different dismissal times and more.  In addition, I will be sending phone messages regarding attendance and other special events.
